Michael Manna on Android Guys Podcast
I had the pleasure of recording a podcast with Scott from the Android Guys. We discussed Fusion Voicemail Plus for Android and well as our other PhoneFusion products. You can listen here. Thanks again to Scott for a fun conversation.
Signup Process Simplified
If you were, previously, having difficulty with the signup process with Fusion Voicemail Plus for Android, we have heard you and went right to work. The signup process has been GREATLY simplified. We have reduced it to 2 steps as opposed to waiting for the SMS, etc. If you were frustrated because of the signup process being such a pain, please give it another shot. We promise that you won’t be disappointed.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone from the PhoneFusion family. Even though its’ a holiday, we are still committed to communicating with our customers in a timely fashion regarding all our products. Today, we would like to address some more of the emails received from androidfeedback@phonefusion.com.
1. The fact that SMS messages show up in the status bar on your G1.
This is a part of the Android OS. We were told that they made this decision because people pay for SMS messages, so they should see each incoming message in the status bar.
You can try and lobby the Android Devleopment Team in their forum located here.
2.I have FlexPlay and cannot set conditional call forwarding. Why?
We apologize, but T-Mobile does not allow FlexPlay customers to use conditional call forwarding. We wish they did.
3. I am hearing other audio sounds when listening to the message.
This is one that we’ve read in the comments via the Market. We are, currently, working hard on a fix for that.
Most of your answers can be found in our FAQ here.
Thanks to everyone for their feedback and, please, keep it coming! Happy Thanksgiving!
First update for FVM Plus now available in Android Market
As promised, we have released the first update into the Android Market for Fusion Voicemail Plus (beta). As stated in our blog post yesterday, this update includes the following:
- Contact integration bug fix
- Conditional Call Forwarding Activate and Deactivate from phone by pressing a button!
- Built in Help function
- Audio output is now set to default audio to earpiece as opposed to speaker, in addition, if you change it to any other output option it will save that setting and still be there when you return
(two fixes in one) - Default set to auto download voicemails
- Simplified access to Voice mailbox to give ability to record custom voicemail greeting and change other admin functions
. We look to have yet another update out soon which will include simplifing the sign-up/registration process among other things.
I’d like to remind everyone that you CAN in fact record you own custom voicemail greeting despite the misconceptions we’re seeing and hearing in other blogs and forums. Please see yesterday’s post for instructions on how to do so, or get the update and enjoy the new simplified access to do so!
We here at PhoneFusion wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving and would like to thank all of your continued support.
FVM Plus Status Update
Thanks so much for visiting the Official Blog of PhoneFusion! This is the place where we will address the following(and much more):
-What We’ve Seen
-What We’ve Heard
-What We’re Doing
We would like thank everyone who downloaded Fusion Voicemail Plus for Android. Since the application went live yesterday, there have been well over 10,000 downloads(and increasing) and was ranked #3 in the Market.
Also, thanks to those who sent in feedback to androidfeedback@phonefusion.com. The overall response was extremely positive and we are happy that you’re enjoying it.
However, as with any Beta software, FVM Plus isn’t perfect…but we are working hard to get there.
What We’ve Seen:
A subject of most emails is the inability to record your own greeting. Many blog sites have been inaccurate in stating that this cannot be done. It can and here’s an excerpt from our FAQ:
Q. How do I change my Voicemail Greeting?
A. Please dial 813-200-0200 from your device and our system will ask you for your password.
You can then follow the prompts for recording your greeting.
If you are prompted to enter your subscriber ID, please enter your 1011******** Account
number.
You can use ANY phone with our service – just forward it to 813 200 0200 and then add it as
a voicemail source.
What We’ve Heard:
There has been feedback from users about receiving text messages when they have a new voicemail. We understand your frustration, especially if you don’t have an unlimited messaging plan with T-Mobile. Unfortunately, this is out of our control, as we stated in our Knowledgebase:
Can I stop the text messages that are sent to my G1 when I get a new message? The message looks like this: PFVM00000900000000000000. And why are they all in a single thread instead of individual messages?
Unfortunately there is a design limitation in the G1 OS and there is nothing we can do to stop these text messages in their current format, as this is a Google restriction within the OS. Google does have a place to send feedback straight to them here. If and when we find an email address, we’ll post that as well.
What We’re Doing:
One thing that we have strived for in the past and will continue in the future…be honest and forthcoming with our customers. As we stated in the beginning, Fusion Voicemail Plus for Android is Beta and not perfect. Here is a more expanded list of FAQ questions with honest answers:
I didn’t get the SMS for the download link. What do I do?
The download for the Android is a little different from our other versions. Please visit the Android Market to download the application.
I already have an account with you and have changed to a G1. Do I have to re-register?
No. If you have already signed up with us previously, you will not be able to register again. Please visit the Android Market to download the application and then log into your PhoneFusion web account and click on Voicemail Plus Destinations. As long as the phone number has remained the same, you can simply change the OS selected from either WM or BB to Android.
What number do I use for Call Forwarding?
Please set your conditional call forwarding for no answer or busy calls to go to 813-200-0200. You may need to contact your carrier if you are having trouble.
I am trying to set my conditional call forwarding but I receive an error message stating “unable to communicate with network”.
This is NOT an issue with PhoneFusion, it is a problem with your carrier. Please contact T-Mobile.
How do I change the Voicemail Greeting for my G1?
Please dial 813-200-0200 from your device and our system will ask you for your password. This is the 4-digit PIN you were given at sign-up. If you are prompted to enter your subscriber ID, please enter your 1011******** Account number.
I changed my Output but every time I exit the application, it goes back to the original settings.
There is a bug in the initial release that is not saving changes to Output. This issue has been corrected and the fix will be in the next release.
My messages are not pulling from my Contacts on my phone.
There is a bug in the initial release that is not pulling contacts saved in your phone. This issue has been corrected and the fix will be in the next release.
I am not able to register.
Please be sure to follow the setup instructions as written in the manual. We are working on simplifying the sign up process. If your registration fails, please try again. Make sure the information you are providing (email address and phone number) is valid.
I cannot delete the test message I sent to my phone.
There is a bug in the initial release that is not allowing the test voicemail to be deleted. This issue has been corrected and the fix will be in the next release.
Thanks to everyone for all the feedback and, please, keep it up!!!
